Midwest Fiber Arts workshops and classes cover a broad range of skills from felting, to fabric surface design techniques such as batik and silk painting, to doll art and more, often featuring unique projects such as making a Salish loom or delving into fiber-based mixed media. Shelley Ryan, Wisconsin Public Television’s “Wisconsin Gardener” shares her expertise in dyeing silk scarves with natural materials. At the annual Rug Hooking School in early September students immerse themselves in three days of rug hooking creativity under the guidance of acclaimed instructors such as Hethie Boll, Anita White, and Suzanne Hamer.
