Workshops at Shake Rag Alley are lively, rambunctious, and hard to find anywhere else. We enjoy offering workshops in just about every art and craft media you can imagine. Experimental concrete and mosaic sculpture. Traditional and offbeat bent willow and twig furniture. Blacksmithing. Vibrant, non-academic classes in writing - fiction, nonfiction, memoir, poetry, screenwriting and playwriting. Acting and directing classes taught by industry professionals who know "the biz" from New York to LA. Computer arts. Fiber Arts and Jewelry. Book and paper arts. Plus a variety of fine arts. Yes, we're an ambitious bunch of arts enthusiasts who love to share what we know how to do with anyone who wants to learn. Our motto is "Inspire Creativity." And we do that well!

Creative Faculty
Our faculty is drawn from a wealth of talented teachers, including nationally known artists from across the country and across the street. They are innovative craftsmen who enjoy trying new techniques and exploring the unusual. Nature and natural materials are strong elements in the design of classes and the orientation of teachers in the visual arts. We also offer literary and performance arts as well. Our literary program features a number of published writers, and early August finds theater, TV, and film professionals gathering to explore stage, screen, and story with students from all over.
